Karol G Isn’t Sure What’s After ‘Mañana Será Bonito’: I ‘Want to Be Super Present’
Karol G isn’t sure what’ll happen after mañana. In a new interview with People, the Colombian star reflected on the success of her album Mañana Será Bonito and shared she isn’t ready for a new album era just yet.
“I don’t know what’s going to be next,” she told the outlet. “This is the first time that I don’t have a plan.”
Karol gained global notoriety following the release of her album that featured songs such as “Amargura” and “TQG” with Shakira, along with its follow-up Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season). The album earned her the Latin Grammy for Album of the Year and Best Urban Music Album, along with the Grammy for Best Música Urbana Album.
“I really want to be super present in what I’m experiencing right now. It’s the first time that a Latina is doing a [global] stadium tour. It’s crazy,” she added. “[There’s] too many things that I really want to enjoy because I don’t know if I’m going to repeat this again, if I’m going to have this opportunity again. I’m here right now. I’m here living everything.”
In the interview, Karol reflected on how “full of emotions” she felt that fans connected with an album that detailed her headline-making breakup with Anuel AA in 2021. “I feel super loved because I know they’re loving Carolina, myself, my story, my life,” Karol said. “I don’t have to hide from anything … that’s everything to me.”
“I was just doing music, trying to heal my heart,” she added.
The new interview comes after Karol released the one-off merengue single “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” in partnership with Coke Studio, and coming off breaking numerous records on her Mañana Será Bonito tour. Karol became the first Latina artist to sell out Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca three nights in a row, and sold more than 100,000 tickets over two nights in Costa Rica, the most for an international tour.
