MJ Lenderman Announces North American Fall Tour
MJ Lenderman will embark on a North American tour this fall in support of his upcoming album Manning Fireworks.
The trek kicks off on Oct. 4 in Atlanta, Georgia, making stops in cities that include dual nights in Chicago (Oct. 16 and 17 at Thalia Hall) and Brooklyn, New York (Oct. 25 and 26 at Music Hall of Williamsburg). The tour wraps in Lenderman’s home of Asheville, North Carolina, on Nov. 1. Tickets go on sale Friday.
Manning Fireworks, Lenderman’s fourth album, arrives on Sept. 6 via Anti-, his first for the label. The record includes the excellent new single “She’s Leaving You” — which features backing vocals by his Wednesday bandmate Karly Hartzman — and “Rudolph,” which he released last year. He played nearly every instrument on Fireworks, which was co-produced by Alex Farrar.
Earlier this year, Lenderman played and sang backup on Waxahatchee’s Tigers Blood, including the duet/lead single “Right Back to It,” which Rolling Stone included on the list of the best albums and songs of the year (so far).
Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield recently wrote in her Substack that Lenderman’s Manning Fireworks is already one of her favorite releases of the year. “I’ve listened to it religiously,” she said (same, honestly).
