Gracie Abrams Receives ‘Asshole of the Year’ Award in ‘I Love You, I’m Sorry’ Video
Gracie Abrams crowd surfs after receiving the “Asshole of the Year” award in the music video for her track “I Love You, I’m Sorry,” released Wednesday. “I Love You, I’m Sorry,” a song about the ebbs and flows of heartbreak, is featured on Abrams’ sophomore album, The Secret of Us.
Before Abrams barges into the award ceremony in the visual, she appears preoccupied with other activities like biking on the beach, riding carefree in the backseat of a car, and sharing drinks with friends.
“And I’ll have a drink/ Wistfully lean out my window and watch the sun set on the lake/I might not feel real, but it’s okay,” she sings.
Abrams made a name for herself following her EP This is What It Feels Like in 2021 and her debut album Good Riddance in 2023. Abrams spent last summer opening for Taylor Swift‘s North American leg of the Eras Tour, and the two collaborated on the fifth track, “Us,” off Abrams’ sophomore album. Rolling Stone’s Brittany Spanos described The Secret of Us as “a complex picture of a relationship gone sour, full of heartbreak songs that capture the messiness of dating in your early twenties,” that’s sure to have a strong presence on any sad girl summer playlists.
The singer announced her 18-city, North American tour for album The Secret of Us in June, which kicks off Sept. 5 in Portland, Oregon, and makes additional pit stops in Denver, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, New York, and Boston. After concluding her tour on Oct. 10, Abrams will rejoin Swift for the second leg of her North American tour in the fall.
